A bladder accumulator is an energy storage device that converts system energy into potential or compression energy for storage. When the system requires this energy, it can be released promptly to ensure stable and normal operation. Failure of the accumulator can disrupt the entire system, making rapid fault diagnosis and resolution essential.

Why Does the Bladder Have a Short Service Life?

Several factors can reduce the bladder’s service life, including:

•  Incompatibility between the working fluid and the bladder material

•  Inappropriate nominal capacity of the bladder

•  Oil temperature that is too low or too high

•  Excessively high reciprocating frequency during energy storage

•  Improper installation

Why Does Pressure Drop Significantly, Requiring Frequent Recharging?

The inflation valve of the bladder is a one-way valve that relies on a sealing cone for effective sealing. During operation, vibration can loosen the valve core, degrading the sealing performance of the cone and causing nitrogen leakage.

Why Is the Pressure Pulsation Absorption Effect Poor?

For effective absorption of pressure pulsations, the connecting pipeline between the bladder accumulator and the branch point of the main pipeline should be short and large in diameter, and the accumulator should be installed close to the pulsation source. Failure to meet these conditions results in poor pulsation absorption performance.

Why Does the Accumulator Fail to Function?

The primary cause of non-operation is severe air leakage from the gas valve, leaving the bladder completely empty of nitrogen. Additionally, when the system working pressure is very low, the accumulator cannot effectively store energy.

Recommended Action

If a fault is suspected during use of a bladder accumulator, perform a thorough inspection to confirm the issue. Only return the unit to service after the fault has been properly rectified.
